I just got the system in and I'm already regretting it and it's not even on yet. It would be hard to recommend the company whole heartedly. We really wanted to love this company, and tried to work through it the entire process. We provided specifics to what we would like our layout to be on our roof, but unfortunately the first design review had everything opposite, which includes our concerns to the actual site surveyor.
Next, we were told our electrical was good to go and everything would be great. This was another loop we were thrown. I wanted to finalize the panel design before committing to the change order to upgrade the panel, but our sales person wouldn't let us proceed with a different design until we agreed to the change order. This was after already sending our deposit in. We got to talk to the sales person after and he ensured that the panel upgrade would be ok, and our old panel removed and we wouldn't notice it there after installation.
We ended up agreeing afterwards and also after we were told that they would fix this relationship and have everything good to go from here on out. This wasn't the case again, we had our start date set in a Thursday, and we would get notification the day before to confirm.
The workers didn't confirm and just showed up Thursday without notice. We then were rescheduled after things were not planned correctly. I was told this installation process would take days, but it extended to nearly two weeks. The first hiccup was that they didn't know our roof was a certain pitch, which should have been know since there was a site survey.
So the commencement of the project, which was reschedule to Tuesday , caused another delay. Next, the panels were installed not according to the panel design that I agreed to. I had to email and call to ask which design we were actually going by, which was the design I agreed upon. Well this caused another delay. Lastly, the panel upgrade mentioned early resulted in two panels and having the original in place and the statement retracted, stating that this would cost too much. I am overall not pleased with the communication, especially since these workers are military veterans.
All these issues could have been resolved if there was any communication between me and the company. I cannot recommend anyone to do business with them if you're looking for a company that values customer service. Great overall experience and my system is producing better than what was promised 2 years later. I've referred them over and over again and my friends and family have also reported back that they are quite happy as well. Highly recommend! I hired Semper Solaris for a new roof and solar array because of their sales pitch and because I believe in supporting veterans.
It was a big mistake. The project went sideways many times, significantly increased in price from the original contract, and took nearly nine months to complete.
Screen Time
The issues were all self-inflicted by Semper Solaris and not problems with permitting besides them failing multiple inspections. Throughout the project, they consistently failed to communicate with myself and the subcontractors who were working on the project. Mark Ivory was so great at explaining the benefits of Semper Solaris. He was extremely knowledgeable of the product and in no way pushy. Very down to earth and factual. Very excited about installing the system!
I had three solar companies come out in one day to pitch their companies and Robert from Semper Solaris was the only one that gave a presentation from an education point of view and not a sales point of view. Robert was very knowledgeable and helpful and did not try to upsell us. The timeline he gave me in his presentation was exactly on and he was realistic and made sure everything went smoothly and according to plan. I would recommend Semper Solaris completely and, tell my friends they should use them I am that satisfied. A family member did a lot of research and came up with Semper Solaris as an excellent, trusted company.

Especially attractive is that these people do more than just solar panels. They are roofers and electricians too. His project went flawlessly some months ago so I took the leap.
From initial sales presentation, everything was made very clear. Project manager Billie Yako was so very available and answered our few questions during the very quick process. And the next day today the Santee building inspector met with the foreman and signed it all off. My solar has been down for 6 days. The installation was completed last October That's 4 months old! I have called customer service 3 times and have yet to receive a phone call to address the problem and schedule a visit to repair that problem. Very poor customer service.
