Foldable phones with foldable displays may be the hot topic in smartphones these days, it's really more of a passing distraction, at least for now. For the majority of OEMs, the goal is still in banishing as much bezel as possible, even when it means putting some sensors in inconvenient or extremely conspicuous places.

Perhaps the biggest offender in the latter is the so-called punch-hole camera cutout but ZTE may have thought of a creative way to make it at least less obnoxious. We've seen all sorts of solutions to the problem of relocating the front camera to make room for more screen. There are popups and flips and even holes in the screen. But while we await that fabled camera-in-display tech, there is one solution that is both the simplest but the oddest one of all: removing the front camera entirely.

That is what the nubia Z20 proposes by having screens both front and back.

And, fortunately, it's one of the most affordable solutions as well. This phone could well be the way ZTE recaptures the imaginations and pocketbooks of a significant number of citizens of the USA - assuming their product stands up to US review scrutiny. The Red Magic 3 is a gaming phone made by the company Nubia's gaming arm. This phone is a gaming machine first, and a smartphone second. It has a relatively large display with no notch and no camera hole, powerful "4D" haptic feedback, front-facing stereo speakers, and a sizable battery.

When the device came to us for a test, we were very surprised: ZTE Blade V9 could impress and even a year later remains for us one of the best solutions for its price. The relationship between price and features attracts attention today, and here the ZTE Blade V9 has something to boast about. The design of the ZTE Blade V10 has changed since last year: a kind of sandwich made of glass and metal has been replaced with a simpler and more conservative plastic housing, with a smooth back.

The second room is responsible for determining the depth of the scene. By the way, its opening is F2. The main one is equipped with a wide-angle lens F1. The pixel size is 1. There is a phase autofocus and a two color LED flash. The front camera is located in a teardrop cutout in the center of the top display. It is also equipped with a wide-angle lens, the resolution is 32 megapixels. The aperture of this lens is F2.

Last year, apparently the modest ZTE Blade V9 proved to be a "universal soldier" that copes with filming both during the day, indoors and at night. Therefore, expectations before the Blade V10 test were moderate, but we were prepared that the device, despite the average price segment, will pleasantly surprise us. We did not change and we started the test in good light conditions during the day, when the devices are usually on the best side, but a number of problems can arise, which are aggravated under more complex conditions.

The test took place in two capitals: Moscow and Stockholm. So the material turned out to be unusual and diverse.

What do we see in good lighting conditions? Correct color reproduction and accurate focusing, white balance selection. The images are clear, but not without a change, which is observed one hundred percent. A wide-angle lens does its job perfectly: there are no distortions, and overall, the image on the smartphone looks good on both the screen of the smartphone and the monitor. It is worth noting that the smartphone has HDR mode, and it starts automatically by default. The device copes well with dark and overexposed fragments, so you can rely on automation work in this way under difficult shooting conditions.

In the smartphone, a dual camera and, as mentioned above, the main one is responsible for measuring the depth of the field and works in the "Portrait" and "Blur" modes. The device is confident in its work and manages well even complex contours. But even without using a special way, you can get a nice bokeh. We often use this technique when photographing small objects, in this case the magnolia flower.

The ZTE Blade V10 has an interesting "Color Swap" mode, which we noticed on the Axon 9 Pro smartphone: it lets you highlight one of the main colors in the image, making the rest black and white. You can choose a color from the palette or click the color you want directly on the screen.

The mode works very well. And, of course, there is no getting rid of the Panorama mode, which faces its work: the gluing is not visible, nothing collapses in geometry.

There may be some problems with exposure, but they are not critical. After dealing with almost all modes, we moved into rooms with artificial lighting.

Both in Moscow and in Stockholm were filmed at the subway stations: beautiful architectural solutions, complex light — ideal conditions for the test. The machine almost always selected the correct white balance and showed the correct color, the details were also raised. I noticed again a change in the harvest one hundred percent, but it did not become a big problem.
