The downside to this is that it doesn't have a satellite or topographic view, but I tested it out locally and the trails I took were all on there. So if I go hiking somewhere and get lost, I have a general idea of where I am - I can see it on the map.
I checked with their support team and they said they will consider it for the future but that doesn't help me now. Ultimately I ended up keeping the S3 Frontier and returning the Galaxy. The Galaxy won on size and waterproof rating, but I just couldn't justify spending almost double on the Galaxy when it wouldn't meet one of my biggest criterion the offline maps. This started out as a 5 star review.
The Gear S3 paired with my Galaxy S6 flawlessly and worked well. Calls were clear, notifications from texts, Google Hangouts, etc worked great until November when an update took out notifications appearing on the watch screen. Incoming call and calendar notifications appear And there has been no effort from a Samsung to resolve the issue. Very disappointing. Well my new? I opened the box took the watch out and went to get the rest of the stuff out of the box and this is how I find the charger cable. Spend that much money and get a used item. I bought this before I was going on vacation and now I get a used watch.
I am a Big Fan of Samsung, but so disappointed with this watch. It was great the first two months, now the actual time is always off and its constantly flipping to whatever screen. Its so annoying. I have a Garmin GPS and so grateful for the insurance as I learned from my first purchase that these items are not repairable so almost every year, I'm getting a new one. I hope this is not the case with this watch, it's less than 4 months old and already it's not working properly!
Can anyone share any help? This watch is absolutely incredible.

It's seriously almost like having a second phone. Typically when I see something advertised as "Military quality" I think its gonna be a POS that breaks in 3 months, as most equipment in the military does. But I'm military and have had this for nearly 4 or 5 months now and it holds up great for the use and abuse given I do have tempered glass for it. I was also pretty skeptical of the water resistance.
However, one day, being in a massive rush, I showered with it on. Not even a single glitch. The only issue was water would get in the speakers and plug up the noise I had music playing , inevitably giving me a heart attack, but then it would pop clear and it was perfectly fine. If you blow in the speakers, the water will come right out. To transfer photos and music you need to use the watch app on your phone. Real quick process, but be mindful you don't have a lot of storage. Still absolutely flawless.
